Overview

This project entailed creating a primary logo for a bicycle race set in upper Michigan. The client sought a vintage aesthetic, desiring a logo that seamlessly blended a subtle color palette with bold typography to evoke a rustic feel.

The client was looking for a vintage aesthetic so a rustic color palette with burnt oranges, beige, and navy blue was used to convey this idea. A bold typeface with a speckled texture was used to further push the idea of vintage.

The final design for this logo incorporated the concepts developed during the ideation phase. The colors, typeface, icons, and texture were carefully chosen to evoke a vintage feel, primarily expressed through the color palette. Complementing this, the textured typeface incorporates an element that resonates with a gravel bike race. Additionally, it enhances the overall aesthetic, drawing inspiration from upper Michigan, as depicted by the pine tree icon.
