Scrolling Experience
This project involved the development of a single-page website designed to be responsive across various devices, including mobile, tablet, and desktop. Using CSS, HTML, and Javascript, my project's direction and scope were shaped by the desire to craft a seamless scrolling narrative detailing the evolution of the Converse Logo. The objective of this microsite was to fashion a platform that immerses users in the rich history of this streetwear brand, showcasing it in its full splendor.
Wireframes
The initial step involved crafting wireframe layouts for the website across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices. These wireframes serve as a systematic representation of the layout for all elements within the information architecture.
In this project, the primary emphasis would be on typography, as it narrates the story of the Converse Logo's evolution. The secondary focus within this project would be on imagery, showcasing how the Converse Logo was used in American society, particularly in its advertisements.
Visual Design
The visual design process involved exploring initial concepts through a mood board. The site's personality conveyed a sense of edginess, capturing the spunkiness of street culture. The creation of the visual design was influenced by elements such as color, typography, and imagery.
Street culture is characterized by an edgy and dynamic set of vibes, and Converse, as a brand deeply rooted in this cultural landscape, plays a significant role in shaping and reflecting these vibes. Bold typography and color allowed for these characteristics to shine through in the site design.
Final Design
After the completion of wireframing, visual design layout, and coding using CSS, HTML, and JavaScript, this microsite came to life. The visual design strategically utilized dark colors accented by a burst of red to infuse the spunkiness synonymous with street culture. Featuring bold typography and iconic imagery, the Converse Logo takes center stage, vividly representing its evolution through the decades.
